Say you don’t know.
Courage is on display when you can admit you don’t know it all or you don’t have an answer, not pretending you do. There is something so freeing about not needing to pretend to know everything.
“Fake it until you make it” shouldn’t be a mantra.
“Admit you don’t know but commit to finding out” should be.
The phrase above is what all of my success has been built on. What I know is so minuscule I could lose it in the couch cushions. I have no problem admitting that. Unfortunately, truly “knowing” in our world has been sacrificed for the sake of “content” and “likes.” We fear the disqualification or feeling of inadequacy that may come with “I don’t know.”
At the end of the day, I am way more content with not knowing, than I am with creating a fake persona that is supposed to. That is the root problem of humans not knowing the one thing we are supposed to be experts in…who we are.
