Appreciate the past

“Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

If you watch or read any news today, the narrative about the history of the United States and it’s people is rarely a position of gratitude. We are battered over the head with negativity towards the people who lived before us. Although it hasn’t been perfect, take some time today and just be amazed with what we as humans have been capable of building through some good ol’ hard work.

I’ll be grateful for the skyscrapers that make up one of my favorite cities, New York. Lunchtime across a skyscraper sums up this day beautifully.
