There are endless books telling us how to overcome and eliminate our fears. Unfortunately, if you take me skydiving tomorrow and I manage to overcome my fear of heights in that moment, I am still going to get a queasy feeling when someone asks me to go on a roller coaster the next day.
Battling our fears is a daily discipline, and much to our dismay, the daily unexpected in our lives love to magnify them.
Fear wears many hats.
Shame. Guilt. Exclusion.
I don’t believe fears can be eliminated, but I believe they can be harnessed and if we can understand WHY a fear exists, the real root of a fear, we have a way better shot of having daily, subtle fist pump, “I did it!” moments. Dig deeper. Fear is a surface creature.
